The 'Gastronomic Tour & Hike' excursion is a full day tour combining an easy hike above Kotor bay and visit to family run Olive Grove and Mill on Lustica peninsula. Vrmac Ridge hike is along a stone pathway following the line of an old Austro-Hungarian road dating from 1860. Starting just outside Kotor town you join the zig-zag trail in and out of pine forests surrounded by the natural scents of rosemary and lavender, past an Austro-Hungarian fort & up to the top of the Vrmac Peninsula. The Vrmac Ridge separates Kotor Bay from Tivat Bay and the panoramic views of these two bays become more spectacular as you slowly ascend to reach 766 meters above sea level. Upon completing approx. 4 hours hike, we will take a short drive to Lustica peninsula where you will meet the Stojkovic family whom have been growing olives and producing oil for more than 400 years. To date they still use the traditional production methods which results in a domestic olive oil that has an extraordinary purity, flavour & character. You will have a guided tour of the private Olive grove with explanations of cultivation & harvesting, a guided tour of the 400 year old Olive Mill to learn the ancient art of olive oil production and to finish, olive oil tasting accompanied by domestic wine & a traditional Montenegrin platter (wine, meats & cheeses produced on site by the Family).
